Who am I?

bilingual communications & digital content specialist

I am an accomplished Media Specialist with over eleven years of experience in the sector within the specialities of digital media distribution (VOD platforms), digital marketing and content marketing, journalism and media library management for large broadcasters. Passionate about the digital ecosystem, with extensive experience and ability in the use of technological tools.

I am native Spanish and hold the Certificate of Proficiency in English at C2 level, the highest level of knowledge of the English language achievable by a non-native as assessed by Cambridge University. This is thanks to having lived and worked for a decade in the wonderful capital of the United Kingdom, London, and, above all, to my lifelong love for this beautiful language.

The last chapter in my professional career is in digital marketing. I got into it after completing Squared Online, the Digital Marketing and Innovation course developed by Google and taught by prestigious professionals from UK, Ireland and US, and working as a Marketing Executive for a London-headquartered B2B company with an international reach which included Spain and Latin America. It provided me the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the sector and develop new skills and competencies.

I had the opportunity to build an e-commerce website from scratch alongside my web developer colleague (lineapro.store) and design and implement a branding and marketing plan to improve the company's presence in the digital ecosystem, strengthen its image, boost its reach, inspire trustworthiness in the clients and increase sales. The company owns three websites and I oversaw the updates and maintenance of the content in English and translated it into Spanish for the Spanish-speaking customers in Spain and Latam. I also managed the social channels sharing relevant company and industry news and supervising the brand's image. I also designed several product brochures.

After this work experience, which was my last in London, I returned to Madrid. From here I collaborated as an SEO specialist on a non-profit basis with an Amsterdam-based NGO which promotes the Theatre of the Oppressed in the Netherlands. Shortly after that I decided to work for myself and became self-employed. This is how I started working with the clients that I still maintain to this day providing my services in digital marketing, PR, communications and proofreading & translation in English and Spanish. My main clients are TailorGo and WowTrip. Both companies are startups in the Travel sector.

Before that I had already specialised in digital content and operations at the Video Store of PlayStation, which offers films and TV series for rent and purchase in several countries. I handled the storefront operations of the devices that support the video store, the metadata and availability & offer windows as per the contracts with the media studios. I was solely responsible for the content of the Spanish platform, proofing and translating metadata, category and collection names and promotional copy.

Before that I worked at the prestigious Cannes Lions Advertising Festival in the 2010 edition. It was three months of intense but rather enjoyable work in London processing thousands of entries into the competition sent through by advertising agencies from all over the world. The cherry on top was to attend the festival itself in Cannes to display the entries to the judges during the judging sessions and arrange the exhibition of winners and runner-ups in the Palais des Festivals. Before that I worked as a media librarian for the large TV broadcasters MTV, Discovery Channel, Disney and BBC

I have also had a stint as a freelance journalist for the London Spanish newspaper El Ibérico. Those three years were among the best in my professional career to date. I had the immense fortune to interview incredible and admirable people like Rosa Montero, Daniel Beltrá, Lucía Etxebarria, Belén Arjona or Paula Gortázar and report on interesting cultural events related to Spain and Latam in the British capital. I wrote about varied topics such as the state of scientific research in Spain during the financial crisis, conservation photography and photojournalism, stolen babies, the 23-F, literature, theatre, etc. Visit my author's page on El Ibérico's website with a compilation of some of my articles.
